The Effects of The Worldwide Virus

The Effects of The Worldwide Virus

The COVID-19 virus has changed everyone’s lives in many ways. Mentally, physically, socially. This outbreak has ruined many lives and has oddly helped others. Before the new normal of a deadly virus, I had the freedom to walk down the street and be in contact with another person. Now, there is a constant fear and uneasiness traveling with me. Many lives have been brutally taken by this fastly spreading microbe, deeply devastating loved ones. Will the germs eventually disappear? Will the humans who inhabit this earth take control and put a stop to this disease? In my eyes of watching the newscast and my ears listening to the gossip running around my family member's mouths, many aren’t taking action.

A single sneeze in the distance short of 6 feet could determine your future. Most are strong and healthy enough to survive the illness, while the disease deteriorates others. As of recent cases, scientists have found that the virus does not latch on to a certain age group; anyone could catch this new deadly flu. While the current statistics show that 94% of those who have been infected have survived, the whopping 697,189 deaths in counting make up the other 6%.  My grandma was one of the lucky few to power through head on and survived. God proved it wasn’t her time to go. But the impact of this particular case that caused my family was immense. The constant anxiety of a phone call no one would want to answer and the fear of opening our doors to leave our house picked us slowly apart. But we prayed. My family never lost sight of the hope that the strong woman who holds our family together would live. Personally, I think the saying, “We are all in this together,” is bogus. If we were, cases would not be going up and people would not be dying because of selfish beings.

Emotionally and mentally, the corona virus has worsened and improved many people’s mental states. Some have realized to be grateful for the life they lived before quarantine, and others are suffering in this time of loneliness, self reflection, anger, and pain. Friends of mine are finding difficulty in the lack of social interaction and new life of fear. My anxiety has elevated remarkably that at times I cannot separate reality from exaggerated worry. Being trapped in your 13 year old mind as you watch the world in panic with memories from scarring events replaying in your head isn’t the most ideal state. Not being able to hug your best friend for 4 months is heartbreaking. No more swimming with your sister. No more walking down the halls to get lunch from the cafeteria. There is nothing “normal” about the COVID-19 outbreak.

The political wars and situations have contributed to the stress and anger. The racial battles being fought, the homophobic jokes being taken too far, and suicide numbers ascending, it seems as if the world is ending. Thousands of people are jobless and trying to support their struggling families. People being murdered on the street for the color of their skin. When will the world slow down and take a deep enough breath to realize we are equal? At the core, we all have insecurities, anxiety, passion, greed, hatred, and love. So why does the color and shape of the shell we came in determine our future?

Us humans, if we really tried, could stop the hate and quickly growing virus. The reason we are still here, stuck in our homes, is because we are not trying hard enough. Scientists can spend countless hours testing for vaccines, but until then, and even after, every single person walking this earth could do a little more to prevent a life being taken.

Christmas 2018 is Decorating Coming Soon!

I am so excited for Christmas this year! I asked my Mom when she wanted to start decorating and she said not until Thanksgiving. So, we are most likely to start decorating for Christmas on Black Friday. I already have a vision in my head for what I am going to decorate in my room! I will be revealing the plans and theme of my Christmas explosion of my room very soon! When are you guys going to start decorating for Christmas and what is your favorite holiday?

Check Them Out!

Seaworld Day!

When we first walked into Seaworld, my sister and I ran to touch the sharks and fish that are right near the entrance. There were a lot of people so we didn't really get the chance to pet them. We walked to the orcha tank and saw it underwater! Then we went to the dolphin's tank and one came right to us. They were swimming on their backs with their tummy's in the air! They always look like they are smiling! Then we ate some lunch and I had a wrap with chicken inside. Then we saw a show about saving animals. They saved an endangered, rare sea turtle and a female sea lion! It was so cool! After the show ended, we walked around and got Popsicle to bring into the next show which was the Dolphin Show! They did flips in the air and splashed people in the splash zone!

My sister and Mom wanted to see the sea lion show and my Dad and I wanted to go on the rapid ride, so we split up. When my Dad and I arrived, the line was an hour and half long! We said heck no! and saw a pearl stand. My Dad was telling me that when he was a kid there were divers and they would dive for an oyster and open it for you. So we went there but there were no divers. Instead we got to pick an oyster ourselves from a bucket. That is still really cool! My Dad and I got my sister, Mom, Gramma, and me a pearl on a chain. So it made a necklace. Then, my siter an Mom found us and we fed sea lions! They are so cute! A few of them had only one eye. :(

Well, that was it for this trip! It was so much fun and I am so thankful that I have such amazing parents!

* Sorry that I jumped right in to the story but we just did so much that I didn't want to do a long intro*

Let Us Pray

We all need to join together to stop these stupid shootings. I can't believe our society has become this stupid and low that mothers and fathers are frightened to send their kids to SCHOOL! School is an environment for children to learn and make friends and be social. These tragedies make me angry and mad at the world for actually putting children into danger while they are trying to have fun. There has been at least one shooting each week. One of them happened on my best friend's birthday. I can't rap my head around the fact that people were dying on Valentine's Day. I am so disappointed in the world. This is really how the world lives and works? People keep saying "Let us pray and take a moment of silence". Well, you know what? I'm tired of the silence. It isn't doing anything. Am I correct? We need to stand together and put the world back into its place. I can't speak for everyone, but this world needs to change. I know people say these things, but no one actually gets off their couch and does anything. Maybe I will get off the couch and get a glass of warm milk because I am tired of all the coldness in this world. Before we know it, we will be the reason Earth dies. MAKE A CHANGE!!

Life Update

Well, a lot has happened in the past few months. For a start, my best friend joined my dance class and our recital is coming up. I can't wait to dance my heart out! I take jazz class. Next year, I want to do both hip hop and jazz. And my birthday happened! Next, I am going to be on a Microsoft commercial! We shot the video like two months ago so I don't know when the video comes out. I have also been helping with the special needs kids that go to my school. I love them all soooooo much! I do PE with them and we are having an ice cream party later the school year! I am going to bring Popsicle to their class!

And I am going to be student ambassador for open house at school. My teacher picked another student and I to be ambassadors. When people come to open house, we will pass out flyers and give them name tags. We will also tell them where the food is and help with the photo booth. Oh, and the silent auction. I can't wait for the next two months!

Christmas is coming!

Guys, I am so ready for Christmas! I am so excited! We even decorated our entire house the day before Thanksgiving! I have a busy week at school ahead of me and we have a Holiday Party in our classroom. On Christmas Eve, I'm celebrating at my family's house and we're going to make cookies and all sorts of goodies! Just yesterday, we practically changed around our entire two bedrooms. Now, we have a guest room/office and we cleaned everywhere! What did you guys do this weekend?

What's your favorite holiday treat and what do you guys do for Christmas?
